Maya Couture Bridal Appointments are two hours long. Alterations are by appointment, as well, and each appointment is approximately 30-45 minutes.

We recommend you bring photos of gowns from bridal magazines and any other information you think is important to help us in your quest for the perfect gown. Otherwise, the most important thing for you to bring is an open mind! Gowns are much different on the body than they are in photos or on the hanger. Most brides end up falling in love with a gown they would have never picked for themselves.

Finding your gown can be as overwhelming as it is rewarding. Too many opinions just adds to the confusion. It’s best to just bring a small group of your most trusted friends and family who will offer opinions based on what is best for YOU and no one else!

Yes, we encourage photos. Trying on wedding gowns is a momentous experience and we want to make sure you have the photos to capture this very special time in your life.

Absolutely! And, if time allows, we can also venture into bridesmaids and tuxedo/suit attire as well.

Not every bride finds their dream gown at the first appointment. In this case we register you and record what you liked during your visit and as new gowns come in we will contact you if there is anything that may suit what you’re looking for. We stay in touch with you and invite you for additional appointments until you’ve found “the one”!

Our goal is to ensure you have the ultimate Maya Couture experience. If at any time you are working with a consultant that you don’t connect with or feel like doesn’t understand your needs it’s important to communicate your feelings to our management staff and we will ensure that we match you with a consultant who better suits your needs.

Our sample sizes range from 6-24. With over 500 gowns in stock, we assure you that you’ll find plenty of gowns to try on.

Gowns at Maya Couture range from $600-$3,000, with the vast majority in the $900-$1,400 price point.

If time allows, we recommend at least 8 months prior to your wedding. More time is always better.

The industry standard for delivery on a special order wedding gown is 4-8 months. Delivery dates are vendor specific and are ALWAYS ANTICIPATED AND NEVER GUARANTEED! This is why we recommend ordering your gown once you know it’s “the one.”

Unless you are buying off the rack these items are special order garments. This means that the designer schedules to make your order once it is placed by Maya Couture. They do not have hanging stock. Your order gets scheduled for production with thousands of other orders that come in across the country.

Once we place the order with the designer we have a very small window to cancel the order, and with some designers there are no cancellations allowed. So what this means is that we are committed to receiving and paying for your order no matter what. So, unfortunately if you change your mind or you’ve postponed or cancelled your wedding you are still financially committed to your order(s).

Absolutely. We work with many designers who allow us to make numerous custom changes. Additionally our seamstresses are experts in making custom changes.

Yes. We make custom bridal gowns, bridal party and mother’s gowns. We can also redesign heirloom pieces like your mother’s gown or veil.

Our policy requires 60% down at the time of purchase and the balance is due 60 days after your date of purchase.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Cash, Certified Checks, and *Personal Checks. (*Personal Checks are only accepted for initial payments or on merchandise that will not be leaving the store for at least two weeks.)

With over 500 gowns in stock you can buy a gown off the rack or most of our designers offer rush options.

Only on weekends for veils and other headpieces.

It takes about 3-4 months for some accessories, such as your veil or headpiece, to come in. We recommend ordering your accessories when you order your gown.

All merchandise is to be paid in full at the time of purchase with the exception of bridal gowns.

The standard turn-around time on wedding gown alterations is 6–8 weeks, but this can vary. If you plan on having a bridal portrait prior to your wedding and/or you will be having any custom work done to your gown (ie. changing the neckline or adding sleeves etc.), you may want to give yourself a couple more weeks. You should build this time into when you want to order your gown. Delivery on a wedding gown can run anywhere from 4-8 months. This is why it's so common for a bride to purchase her gown a year or more in advance of her wedding date.

Most alterations appointments take between 30-45 minutes. Your first fitting is generally the longest.

The average number of alterations appointments is 3. Some brides have fewer, some more. It all depends on what work needs to be done to the gown and how complex the gown is.

You need to make sure you have your shoes and all undergarments you plan on wearing with your gown (i.e. bras, petticoats etc.) at all fittings.

Yes. We do alterations on bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother’s dresses that were purchased from another retailer.

For bridal gowns we generally like 6-8 weeks and bridal party dresses 2 weeks. However, in general, we work with the time frame we are given.

Soon after you choose your bridal gown. Typically you find your gown first, then bridesmaid dresses, then tuxedos/suits. Sometimes this can be done in one appointment!

With bridal party dresses, we recommend 5 months. Tuxedos and suits require a 2 month lead time.

We cannot get swatches from our designers. They will sell fabric by the yard. This also goes for wedding gowns.

Bridal party dresses and tuxedos are paid in full at the time of purchase.

Yes. We have a large selection of dresses for the entire bridal party.

Our bridesmaid designers will not make any changes, but depending on what you want, it may be something we can do in-house once the dresses come in.
